Land-Scape Community Based Conservation
The Land-Scape Community Based Conservation Program identifies and supports landscape-scale, community-based opportunities that protect elephants while also creating a sustainable human ecology. This holistic approach has made this program the most successful and one that we intend to improve and expand considerably through the foreseeable future. Garo Hills, UNESCO World Heritage Site Campaign is our flagship project in this program.
Field Guides: Leaders in Elephant Protection and Conservation
The Field Guides program objective is to provide additional support for the women and men that work on the ground as rangers, guides, wildlife guards, and conservation lands managers. Their needs are great and the risks in their daily work are tremendous. We have a nomination process that works through our partner not-for-profits, regional forest offices, and other conservation and humanitarian organizations to select an individual or individuals who have performed exceptionally on behalf of elephants and the people with whom they share habitat. This is not an easy process given that these courageous individuals serve “above and beyond” every day.

Peace for People and Elephants: Ending Violence Against Elephants and Protecting People
This program gathers and disseminates substantive information about the many factors causing human-elephant conflict and how this problem can be resolved. This program interfaces with Land-Scape Community Based Conservation Program as many of the factors effecting human-elephant conflict arise when people locate in elephant corridors and/or when elephants are drive from their range and into human habitation. Landscape-level approaches to management of human habitation and provision and protection of elephant habitat require coordinated efforts that include the needs of both elephants and humans.
Go Pro Elephant
CIFAE is excited to launch our “Go Pro Elephant'' Campaign! This campaign focuses on our ability to create an impact and bring forth change on issues concerning both human and elephant dignity as affected by the palm oil industry. Through this program we are providing ways with which we can work together toward a holistically sustainable network that can curtail the use of palm oil, improve human and elephant dignity, while improving upon our relationship with natural systems. Join us through this program to raise awareness about the harms of palm oil and go pro elephant!

Being an Elephant at Art: Experiencing Elephants Through Visual and Performing Arts
We recognize that conservation and environmental sciences are only a few of the paths along which an individual can come to appreciate and protect Nature. Research in sustainability psychology, environmental psychology, ecopsychology, and positive psychology indicate that individual experience of Nature not only raises appreciation for her but also raises appreciation of others, human and non-human alike.
The Being an Elephant at Art program provides support in the form of exhibit space at CIFAE events and our social mediate sites, as well as funding for materials for individuals that create visual and performing art about and on behalf of Asian elephants and the people with whom they share habitat.
Poetry Program for Children and Elephants
This program supports the continued creation of collection of poems about elephants and children’s connections with elephants written by children and featured on CIFAE’s website and our other social media outlets. Children of all ages and from around the world can submit their poems for inclusion in a volume currently being created or in an upcoming volume.
Each year a child from each age group and their poem will be selected for special recognition and their poem will receive an individual posting on CIFAE’s social media outlets. Their parents will also be rewarded with their choice of an article of clothing from CIFAE’s apparel.
